The taught Master's programme in International Urban Conservation offers graduates from a wide range of first degree backgrounds the opportunity to gain a professional training for employment in the management of the historic built environment. Designed to complement the acclaimed MSc European Urban Conservation, this intensive 12-month programme matches ICOMOS guidelines on the training of heritage professionals, and provides both an academic understanding of urban conservation philosophy and policy in respect of historic buildings, sites and areas and the vocational skills necessary to put these core values into practice.
Appropriate first degree disciplines would include town planning, architecture, art history, history, geography, archaeology, cultural studies and building surveying, but this list is not prescriptive.
