RTPI President Visit

Mr Jim Claydon speaks to students at Town and Regional Planning

President of the Royal Town Planning Institute, Mr Jim Claydon, visited Town and Regional Planning at the University of Dundee on Thursday 15th November to speak to staff and students. His visit to Scotland also included attending the RTPI's annual conference on 'Fulfilling Planning's Potential' held on 16th November in Edinburgh. At a time when planning enters an exciting phase with the implementation of a new Planning Act in Scotland and when demand for professionally qualified graduates outstrips supply, Jim emphasised the wide opportunities that exist for planning students in fulfilling their own potential, the key role to be played by planning in achieving sustainable development in Scotland, and the opportunities that exist for new graduates in implementing the new planning system.
