2008 Angus Design Awards

Final year planning student judges design awards

Fraser MacKenzie, a fourth year student on the MA in Town and Regional Planning at Dundee University, was one of the judges for the 2008 Angus Design Awards Scheme. The scheme, run every two years by Planning and Transportation Department of Angus Council, aims to promote and recognise good building design and repair.

Read Fraser's amusing reflections on his involvement in the awards.

The overall winner of the awards, announced at a ceremony at Angus House on 5th February 2009, was the Authmull Project, a refurbished sporting lodge in Glen Esk. The project involved an imaginative extension of the lodge to create a library and the conversion of former farm buildings into self-catering accommodation for visitors and staff.
