MA in Town and Regional Planning
Summary
- The School of the Environment offers a four year MA Honours degree in Town and Regional Planning. Town and Regional Planning aims to make the environment a better place for all of us. It involves identifying land for new development, conserving historic buildings, protecting the countryside, promoting innovative forms of transportation, creating attractive public spaces and much, much more!
- The Town and Regional Planning degree is fully accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute, the planners' professional body. This means that our graduates can become Chartered Town Planners.
- Applicants for entry into first year must normally obtain passes at either
- SCE Higher Grade: BBBB
- GCE Advanced Level: CCC
- Applicants with Advanced Higher, EDEXCEL, AGNVQ, SQA, GSVQ (III), Irish Leaving Certificate, and International Baccalaureate will be very welcome
- We are able to offer applicants with appropriate planning-related qualifications direct entry into second year.
- Town and Regional Planning is situated in a modern, purpose-built building, with lecture theatres, a specialist library, multi-media and IT facilities.
- Students have the opportunity to study in Europe via an international study visit as part of the third year module in European Spatial Planning.
- The career opportunities for Town and Regional Planning graduates are numerous and varied. Currently there is a shortage of chartered planners in the UK and some overseas countries such as Australia.
