MSc in Local and Regional Economic Development

Town and Regional Planning operates in a Consortium with Coventry University, Sheffield Hallam University and the IED to teach this distance learning course. An Academic Programme Manager in Town and Regional Planning administers the course but each university contributes to the teaching of different modules.

Course Content

The Institute of Economic Development has joined with three universities to create a new national qualification in Economic Development obtainable by distance learning. This qualification offers a postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and MSc degree and is designed to meet the needs of working practitioners. It is obtained through a series of modules, enabling students to progress at the pace that suits them and to achieve the level of qualification they require.

All the modules are provided through distance learning and students can start the courses by studying any of the three core modules offered at the Certificate Level. Students can start in January, May or September.
