BA Professional Development in Community Regeneration

The BA Professional Development in Community Regeneration has been developed in response to a call for a training programme for those working in areas of most social and economic need in Scotland and the rest of the UK. Jointly developed and delivered by Town and Regional Planning and the Department of Community Education, the BA degree is a two year part time degree level programme that brings together the skills of the planner with those of the community educator at a time when inter-professional and collaborative working are becoming more and more important in the delivery of public and community-based services.

In line with the Scottish Executive's social justice and inclusion agenda, the BA degree has been specifically designed for those involved in community-based regeneration. Its aim is to work towards improving professional knowledge and skills in community planning, community capacity building, collaborative practice and sustainable development.

The University of Dundee graduates more students into the professions than any other university in Scotland and this new degree seeks to build on this tradition and develop qualifications that meet the expanding needs of the professions in the new millennium.
