Aims
To take a multi-disciplinary approach to the understanding of the pathophysiology of cardiovascular diseases and to the development of treatment strategies in patients with cardiovascular diseases.
Teaching
The academic section of Cardiology is part of the University of Dundee Division of Medicine & Therapeutics. It is responsible for the teaching of medicine at undergraduate and postgraduate level to medical, nursing, dental and other students. Teaching in the Medical School is externally rated as "excellent".
Research
There is a thriving multidisciplinary research programme focussed on all aspects of heart disease. The RAE ratings for the Medical School were 4/5/5* for Community, Hospital-based and Laboratory-based units of assessment. Applications from potential research fellows for MD or PhD programmes are welcomed.
