Ian Christie initially trained and worked as a greeting card artist for four years with Andrew Valentine Ltd., in Dundee. He has now been employed by the University of Dundee since 1990. Ian lectures to postgraduate and undergraduate students on a variety of elements including presentation skills, poster design and how to use images effectively and accurately. He also provides high quality electronic illustrations for both staff and students throughout the campus and designs and maintains several web sites throughout the University and beyond. Ian has designed close to 100 scientific posters that have been successfully presented worldwide and has also produced over 3500 illustrations. Ian is currently writing a book entitled ‘How to design an effective scientific conference poster’ and spends most of his spare time drawing and painting; having also designed the official Glastonbury Festival t-shirts of 2002 and 2004.
