The Division of Medical Sciences provides a high quality research and training environment for more than 400 clinicians and scientists. The principal research strengths are in cancer, neuroscience, cardiovascular/lung disease, immunology, skin disorders and human genetics, and staff make major contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in medicine, dentistry and the life sciences.
The Biomedical Research Institute is an autonomous research institute that creates an environment that brings together molecular and cell biologists with clinical scientists to focus on research programmes that have a direct application to the study of common complex human diseases.
Division of Clinical & Population Sciences & Education
The Division of Clinical and Population Sciences and Education (CPSE) brings together academic and clinical staff undertaking teaching health care and research in the University of Dundee, NHS Trusts and Health Boards and, as such, encompasses an extremely rich teaching and research working environment. It is committed to multidisciplinary teaching and research that will assist to inform and shape future health service policy and provision.
Institute of Health Skills & Education
Within the Division of CPSE, the Institute of Health Skills & Education brings together the undergraduate Clinical Skills Centre and the postgraduate Cuschieri Surgical Skills Centre to promote skills training within a simulated and safe environment, as well as the internationally renowned Centre for Medical Education with its focus on postgraduate training for teachers.
