Discovery Short Courses

CME Discovery 2012 Each year the Centre for Medical Education runs a series of short courses. The courses are designed to help medical and health professions’ teachers develop an understanding of and study skills in medical education. The courses are attended by medical educators from all over the world, providing a unique networking opportunity for those interested in medical education.

The symbol of Dundee is the sailing ship ‘RRS Discovery’ in which Captain Robert Falcon Scott made his first voyage to the Antarctic, and we have adopted ‘Discovery’ as the theme for these courses.

What will you gain from this course?   Greater emphasis needs to be placed on the development of undergraduate and postgraduate teachers’ understanding and skills in education. The Discovery Courses are designed to meet this need. The courses have been developed over the past two decades and over 2000 participants have attended.

Course tutors and workshop contributors.   Tutors and contributors come from a range of disciplines in the health professions. Some have international reputations in medical education. What they have in common is an active involvement with health professions’ education and contributions based on many years of practical experience.
