The Medical School Information Services Committee announces the
Images
of Medical Science Competition 2005
The
competition aims to showcase the variety of research being conducted within the
Medical School, to encourage excellence in scientific image generation, to stimulate
interest in the relationship between science and art, and to highlight the poster
production facilities now available at Ninewells.
Scope: Entries will be judged on originality, informational content, technical proficiency, and visual impact. Images must reflect research within the Medical School. All aspects of ongoing research are eligible. Entries may be either single images or composites, colour or monochrome. Possible examples might include: micrographs illustrating cellular processes, time lapse montages, computer tomography, images reflecting clinically oriented research, etc. but this is by no means an exhaustive list. Imaginative and inventive means of communicating our medical research are encouraged.

Staff and current postgraduate
students of the Medical School (for details see Rules)
Prizes:
1st Prize - £100
2nd Prize - £75
3rd
Prize - £50
4th Prize - 250 Mbyte USB stick
Deadline:
5.00 pm on 9th December 2005
Winners will be notified by early January and results will be announced
on this website.

Exhibition:
The four winning entries will be printed at poster size and displayed
at the University's forthcoming Discovery Days, January 12-13th 2006. After framing,
they will be placed on long-term display in the Medical School foyer area.
