The University embarked on a programme of work focused on the development of a Research Infomation Management System (RIMS) in May 2010. This programme of activity resulted in the University purchasing Pure (Publication Research), a Current Research Information System (CRIS) from the Danish Company Atira, in May 2011.  Pure, which was launched in the September 2012 along with the University's research portal, Discovery, provides research staff and administrators with a mechanism to manage research outputs and activities in a user friendly, intuitive, interactive interface.  The research information displayed in the Discovery portal is selected from content which is available in the Pure application. The Pure system will be also be used to support the University's submission to REF2014.
