Discovery is the institutional research portal of the University of Dundee. Originally created in 2010 to provide an institutional repository and digital preservation service for research material created by the University of Dundee community, it has evolved into a comprehensive source of information on all aspects of the University’s commitment to research, and forms a key part of its Research Information System (Pure).
A key area of Discovery is its repository of research outputs, comprising links to electronic full text of peer-reviewed articles and conference papers, as well as book chapters, theses and other forms of written research from the University of Dundee’s academic staff and postgraduate students. Some publications are also available as full-text downloads where copyright restrictions permit. Discovery also holds “grey literature”, such as working and discussion papers, technical reports and preprints. In addition, research datasets, sound and image collections, multimedia, software and other forms of research data can also be deposited.
Discovery content is accessible from the University’s Library Search, Google and repository portals such OAIster and Open DOAR, ensuring a high level of visibility for University of Dundee research output across the web.
