Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain (PESGB)

The PESGB now has a branch in Dundee. The Branch Secretary is Dr Ian McPherson and the Branch Committee members are Dr Lorraine Walsh, Dr Karen McGavock and Mr Michael Allardice. The inaugural meeting of the Dundee branch was held in Spring 2008.

Meetings are held on Saturday mornings at the main campus and refreshments and lunch are provided. Everyone, including colleagues from the College, School and Community Learning & Development sectors, are welcome to come along to these free events to join in the discussion.

We would like to invite you to what promises to be a very stimulating morning of discussion and debate on Saturday 17th November 2012.  We hope you will be able to join us.

The speakers are

• Aislinn O'Donnell, University of Limerick, who will be speaking on 'Material thinking: practices of storytelling in the sciences and in the humanities'.
• James Williams, University of Dundee, who will be speaking on 'A gift in time: Deleuze and education'.

We will be meeting in the University of Dundee's Library and Learning Centre, in the ground-floor EduZone, between 10 am and 1 pm. Refreshments will be available from 10am and the first speaker will start at 10.30. Everyone is welcome to attend this free event, supported by the University of Dundee and the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain (PESGB).
