Chancellor's Award for Lifetime Contribution to Teaching

This is an award which came into effect in academic session 2008-09.

The award aims to acknowledge and reward senior teachers for outstanding achievement in contributions to teaching at the University of Dundee over a significant period of time and who have demonstrated effective leadership in teaching and mentorship for new teachers.

Up to four lifetime achievement awards will be awarded each academic year, one per college.

Criteria for the Award

Nominees might be expected to demonstrate the following:

• effective leadership in learning & teaching
• evidence of mentoring others in a teaching role
• evidence of effective collaborative working in learning & teaching
• pedagogical research publications
• professional recognition for teaching at a senior level (e.g. by the HE Academy).

The Award

The award will consist of:

• a certificate of recognition
• the title of Chancellor's Award Fellow
• an invitation to an award dinner hosted by the Principal, and/or other senior members of the university
• an opportunity to take part in the University's Graduation ceremony to receive the award.

Award winners may not re-apply for this award.

Award Panel

The award will be considered by a panel comprising the Principal, the Academic Professional Development Advisory Group, DUSA President and the College Heads of Learning and Teaching.
