Latest news

The new Women in STEM 2010 programme is now available

The programme, which includes exhibitions, lectures, public outreach and "meet the scientists" opportunities, film screenings and family events, runs from 6 - 23 March.

The Friday Fry-up Club is launched! The first meeting is 26 March from 12pm-1pm in College Hall. The theme is Web 2.0 - anything for me? Bring your own lunch but tea/coffee and buns will be provided.

Academic Professional Development (APD) provides educational development opportunities through workshops, sharing good practice events, conferences and hands-on training opportunities. We also provide accredited development opportunities through the Learning, Teaching & Assessing in Higher Education (LTA) module, the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (Pg CertTHE) programme, and online continuing professional development modules such as Learning & Teaching Online and Assessment Online. These sessions are provided as part of a centrally delivered programme, which is available to consult and book online, and through bespoke activities tailored to your discipline area's requirements.

APD works closely with the School of Education, Social Work and Community Education and Quality Assurance in bringing you a varied and responsive range of development opportunities which reflect the issues and challenges of current practice in higher education.

We look forward to working with you.
