Personal & External Web Pages

Personal and external web pages remain the sole responsibility of the page author, even when linked to official pages on the University web site. The University of Dundee shall not be liable for the content or presentation of such pages. Personal web pages on University servers are distinguished by the use of the tilde character (~) in the URL, usually followed by the login name of the individual responsible for the pages e.g.

http://www.personal.dundee.ac.uk/~loginname

Most personal web pages are hosted at http://www.personal.dundee.ac.uk/.

Official Web Pages

Official pages have a "base" URL in one of the following formats:

http://www.dundee.ac.uk/directoryname/
http://servername.dundee.ac.uk/ eg. http://somis.ais.dundee.ac.uk/

The University of Dundee is not responsible for the accuracy of any information, data, wording or graphics ("Material") on the web site and the Material is not provided for any specific or general purpose and any third party to who any such Material is passed should be made aware of this. No reliance should be placed on the Material by the user without specialist advice. The University reserves the right to make changes to the site without notice. The University of Dundee has a Web Code of Practice which includes procedures for dealing with web pages on servers at the University that breach copyright and other rules, regulations and legislation.
