Innovative Learning Technologies

The Learning Enhancement Unit is tasked with developing, evaluating and providing access to innovative learning technologies for the benefit of University of Dundee students and staff. Links are provided below to some of the developing areas and your feedback will be appreciated. We are very keen to facilitate the transfer of good practice from one part of the University to other areas, and again please inform us if you have resources to share, or suggestions for new ones to be developed.

Online Assessment including Questionmark Perception Institutional License. QMP Student Login or QMP Administrator Access Online tool for producing evaluation/survey forms and programs to collate the results (fully automatic, pilot system only)
Online tool for Planning Meetings. With this the coordinator suggests dates & times, participants complete and the program determines the optimum meeting date Online tool for collecting tabular information (excellent for setting student exercises within the VLE) Online tool for active table
Project to develop a tool to permit online self and peer assessment of text (partly funded by LTSN) Program for the creation of a web-based system to collect registration information or an example of how to use the same program to collect enrolment information
FINESSE Finesse is currently funded by the Stewart-Ivory Fund and has produced a web-based share portfolio management game for student groups. A second strand to this work is TAGS, a web-based learning tool that provides an innovative approach to online learning. Created by staff in Accounting and Business Finance at University of Dundee, and Computer Science, University of St Andrews Demonstration of programs to assist with the development of Numerical Problem Solving Skills using random question values within an online environment
