Biography
Mark joined the Department in 1997. His research has focused on aspects of international criminal law and human rights with a particular interest in aspects of international co-operation in criminal matters including extradition, mutual assistance and police co-operation.
Teaching
International Criminal Law, English Criminal Law, Criminal Justice, Human Rights.
Mark offers postgraduate supervision in the field of international criminal law and international legal cooperation in criminal matters.
Mark co-ordinates Level 3 and Level 4 teaching and is Quality Assurance Officer
for the undergraduate degree.
Research
Publications have considered aspects of international co-operation in criminal matters, legal aspects behind the establishment and operation of the Lockerbie trial, the case law of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia and human rights issues in domestic criminal law. Current work includes assessments of the operation and implementation of recent measures for co-operation in criminal matters in the European Union.
