His research focuses on how the legal systems of the EU's Member States interact with each other and with EU law. It attempts to identify how best to establish a market free of artificial distortions in a community of socially diverse States. In particular, the research explores the balance between party autonomy and the residual rights of Member States to govern their socio-economic affairs.
