Taught Masters Degrees: Competition Law

Module Convenor: Dr. Stephanie Switzer (s.switzer@dundee.ac.uk) Room 3.20

This is a second semester module. The method of assessment is 40% by coursework and 60% by written examination.

The aim of the module is to give students the opportunity to acquire advanced knowledge and critical understanding of Competition law and practice. The Competition law module will provide students with detailed overview of the theoretical basis of Competition law, an explanation of the various practices usually prohibited under EU Competition law as well as an introduction to the overlap between Competition law and the legal protection afforded to intellectual property. Although the emphasis of this module will be upon EU Competition law and practice, it is nevertheless relevant to, and moreover touches on, the relationship between national and regional/international rules on competition law and enforcement.
