With qualifying degrees in both Scots and English law, Dundee is a truly unique law school. We offer a modern, forward looking approach to learning and a rigorous preparation for the professional world, whether in the legal sphere or elsewhere. Our tradition of legal scholarship is long and can be traced back over six centuries through links with St. Andrews University.
Dundee has produced many celebrated law graduates and our staff are often leaders in their field.
The School encourages overseas exchanges and has links with many European universities.
With our good staff to student ratio we place a strong emphasis on small group teaching and support and in the last Quality Assurance Agency rating we were rated as 'commendable', the equal highest rating achieved by any law school in Scotland. Our research is also of the highest order and in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise we were one of only two law schools in Britain to have 100% of our research rated as being of 'international standard'.
Public rankings have seen the Law School and the University receive wide acclaim. Ranked top in Scotland in the 2011 National Student Survey (NSS) and ranked in the top 20 of all law schools in the United Kingdom by The Guardian, The Good University Guide and The Complete University Guide
