Accredited Modules

International Commercial Arbitration.

Dundee Law School has secured external recognition from professional bodies for three of the modules in the programmes. This brings significant additional benefits to those who graduate from the programmes. The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators has awarded Recognised Course Provider status to the module in International Commercial Arbitration. Successful completion of this module will permit those who already have passes in Evidence, Contract and Delict (usually standard with an LLB degree) to apply for Membership of the CIArb and thus exemption from their examinations at Associateship and Membership levels.

Negotiation and Mediation

Dundee has also secured recognised course provider status from Mediation Scotland LLP for the modules in Negotiation and Mediation.

Within Stream 1, successful completion of the Negotiation module, including its residential element will provide students with accreditation in Advanced Negotiation Skills for Lawyers. Successful completion of the Mediation module, including its residential element, provides a Certificate in Mediation Skills and Accreditation in Mediation Implementation for Lawyers.

Within Stream 2, the Negotiation and Mediation modules are available entirely by distance learning. Successful completion of these virtual modules leads to Certificates in Negotiation Theory and in Mediation Theory respectively.
