Academic Staff

	Programme Director: Dr Alasdair MacLean M Jur, PhD Dr Maclean qualified as a doctor in 1987 and practised for 8 years before going on to qualify in law in 1997. In 2001 he moved to the University of Glasgow as a lecturer in medical law and ethics. He came to the Law School in Dundee in 2005 as a senior lecturer in this subject. He recently completed a PhD thesis on 'Consent to Medical Treatment' and, among other publications, has written a book "Autonomy, Informed Consent and the Law: A Relational Challenge". 	Other staff who teach on the Healthcare Programme: Professor Pamela Ferguson LL.B, Ph.D, Solicitor Professor of Scots Law. Professor Ferguson has published in the fields of criminal law, and healthcare law, including the area of pharmaceutical product liability. She was formerly a member of the Procurator Fiscal Service.
