The Student Law Clinic were delighted to have a visit from Baroness Clark of Calton, on Tuesday 4 October. Lady Clark gave an informal seminar on access to justice and the numerous advantages of pro bono legal work for society. Lady Clark, who was formerly a lecturer at the School of Law in Dundee, spoke fondly of her involvement with a similar law clinic project at the School some years ago. She remarked about how her involvement at that time had lead to her first experience of a 'real case' and how that had ultimately influenced her career path. Lady Clark then kindly answered questions from some of the student advisers from the current clinic and concluded by urging all involved to remain energetic, focused and proactive in their efforts to combat 'unmet legal need' in the local community.
