L.L.B., Catholic University of Chile
LL.M. International Commercial Law, Dundee University
L.L.M. Taxation & Business Law, Cergy-Pontoise University
After having studied law at the Catholic University of Chile, I was eager to complete my LLM degree. I was determined to be specialized in international commercial and taxation law and following my research on this area, I was convinced that Dundee was the best option to apply for.
I must say that I could not have made a better decision. Opportunities such as attending seminars and lectures in both common and civil law jurisdictions and having classes in reputed law firms in the heart of Paris are part of this programme. Dundee offers a range of different courses taught by well-qualified professionals, from academics to practitioners, who helped me to understand that the legal environment surrounding is much greater than I ever imagined. I would strongly recommend the legal research module which helped me to write my dissertation and essays.
I currently work as a Legal Adviser in the Taxation Department at the Chilean Revenue Agency and I am a Lecturer in both, economic and commercial law at University. Additionally, this year I published my first article in the Chilean Law Journal.
In the future, I want to spend a few more years working and teaching in my country and hopefully start a Ph. D. in commercial and tax law.
