Languages for All

Languages For All offers everyone the opportunity to learn a language, whether for personal or professional reasons.

The emphasis in our language classes is on fostering communicative competence, linguistic knowledge and intercultural awareness. Although speaking in class will be our main priority, reading, listening and writing skills will also be taught continuously, using authentic audio and written materials and on-line resources.

Evening and Saturday morning classes are available, and you can choose from 14 languages, many of which are available at different levels.  Practical Languages - French, German and Spanish (daytime) modules are also on offer to members of the public (noted as Fast-track) who wish to study a language at a faster pace.  Please contact us for further information.

Some of the languages classes are also accredited, so you can obtain a University of Dundee Modern Languages Certificate worth 20 SCOTCAT points.  For details of which languages are accredited see our list of language courses. You may even be able to apply for an Individual Learning Account to help you pay the course fees.

Benefits of studying with us include use of library facilities with language-specific support material, and free membership of our foreign languages film club.

So whether you want to study a new language or improve existing language skills, whether you are a member of the public or a student at the University, we have a language course for you.

If you have any questions that are not answered on our website please contact us.
