Helen Weavers now UKSA accredited.......
Helen Weavers (Sport and Exercise Physiologist) is now an UKSCA accredited strength and conditioning coach! The UKSCA is the professional governing body for strength and conditioning coaches in the UK and accreditation is only awarded after demonstrating experience and competency in theoretical, practical and coaching knowledge of strength and conditioning. Congratulations from us all.
Dundee University Girls Fastest in Scotland.......
Huge congratulations to our womens athletics team who competed at the weekend in the SSS Road Relay Championships. The team (consisting of Eilish McColgan, Morag MacLarty and Amy Sutherland) came 1st out of 13 teams, running 4.8 miles each and winning by almost 6 minutes! Eilish and Morag got the fastest and second fastest times respectively.

After much thought, the winner has been chosen........massive well done to Abi Brown. Abi has had a fantastic year and has become the University of Dundee's first World Champion!!

Award for Teaching Innovation......
Congratulations to ise Sports Scientists Helen Weavers & Dr Audrey Duncan who recently won the College of Life Science's award for innovation in teaching 2012. Helen and Audrey's submission of their "Sports Science Internship Programme" model was praised by the judges for "supporting the development and employability of Sports Science students" and for "how good the relationship with employers has become over time".
