what we do
gym instructor course
train to be gym instructor here at ise:
if you want to become a gym instructor then you need just one qualification - Gym Instructor Level 2. this is awarded through CYQ and Fitness Scotland, and is a nationally and internationally recognised qualification.
the first part of the course is the Theory and Underpinning Knowledge and has to be completed before starting on the practical gym section. the theory course covers; the skeletal system, muscular system, circulatory and nervous systems and the principles of training.
if you do not hold a current first aid certificate, then ise will organise a further days training. this must be completed before the practical assessment. a cost for this will be supplied by ise if first aid training is required.
total cost of the course, including Theory and Underpinning Knowledge, Gym Instructor Award and Assessment of both sections (not first aid) is £650.
you may also be eligible for ILA funding of up to £200 towards the cost of the course. contact Learn Direct Scotland on 0808 1009000 for further information and to set up your account.
