Come along and enjoy this traditional Christmas celebration. Join in with the Carol singers to the festive musical band and exchange your Christmas stories and experiences from across the globe. While New Year's Eve is celebrated around the world, the Scots have a long rich heritage associated with this event - and have their own name for it, Hogmanay where we celebrate to "see the New Year in."

Taste of Scotland Welcome Party
Friday 25th January 7pm – 12 am midnight, West Park
Join Student Services staff for this Scottish party and sample a taste of traditional Scotland including food, Burns poetry, entertainment, bagpipes and lots of Scottish country dancing to the excellent live Ceilidh band. Tickets cost only £6 and you can buy them from the University online shop at www.bit.ly/TasteJan13. It is a very popular event, so get your tickets now! You will be guaranteed a fun packed evening with lots of Scottish Country Dancing, home cooked food and an opportunity to meet friendly hosts of VL Scotland and their families who have organised and funded the evening especially for international students. A chance to make connections and build friendships with local Scottish families and share cultural experiences. If you want to join in the dancing, there are plenty of hosts who are happy to take you through the steps. If your family is here with you, they are most welcome to attend.

Weekend Trip to the Highlands
Friday – Sunday, May 24th—26th
This 3-day trip will take you on a scenic journey through the Highlands exploring some of Scotland's tourist attractions including historic castles, lochs and mountains. The tour will be staying overnight in Loch Ness and the Isle of Skye. Tickets will be available from 1st April; cost to be confirmed.
