With staff from 52 different countries, international students from more than 100 countries and research and teaching connections throughout the world, the University already has a strong international focus. On these pages you will find information on our international activities.

Benefits for Dundee and Scotland

The direct value of international students to the Scottish economy has been estimated at nearly £1bn. Global research links also bring income and jobs to Scotland. The University of Dundee has a world reputation for biomedical and life sciences including research into cancer, diabetes and malaria, and drug development associated with treating diseases. This research is having a major impact on the economy of Tayside by stimulating the regional biotechnology industry which currently accounts for 16% of local jobs.

Our Strategy

Internationalisation is a core part of the University of Dundee's mission in its teaching, research, scholarship and community engagement. As an international university we seek to:

  • Prepare students to operate effectively as global citizens;
  • Produce research that will help solve problems confronting the world;
  • Attract top quality students and staff from around the world to the University;
  • Be a leading university in the provision of higher education and research within Scotland and the UK
