Web Design and Development

Web Development provides a website design/development service. This service is available to both internal and external clients. When undertaking internal projects, the aim of the service is to enhance the University's website (which includes department and school websites). Therefore charges are kept to a minimum and you would be given an estimate before any work begins.

Our Services

The kind of work we can provide includes:

complete website development or redevelopment
collages of photographs, drawings etc to create banners or images to fill white space
navigation bars, buttons, logos and similar
setting up technical elements such as server-side includes for ease of site management
html coding, valid to the XHTML 1.0 standard
compliance with Priority One and Priority Two of the WAI Accessibility Guidelines
testing on various browsers, platforms etc.
the addition of META tags to aid search engine indexing
consultation on navigation and information architecture, and the production of mind maps
population of sites with initial content
a handover of a completed site, including an html template for new pages, to the maintainer of the site
