Unix, 'On Demand' Command Line Scanner for Sun Solaris, Linux, and SCO

We recommend VirusScan 4.16 for Sun Solaris, Linux, and SCO. Please note that they all share the same documentation.

Licensing

The University has bought, from McAfee, an anti-virus package called 'McAfee Active Virus Defence Suite'. This includes Virex for Unix. This software is freely downloadable for use by all University staff and students, for computers owned by the University. This license extends to one personal computer/laptop at home.

Unix, 'On Demand' Command Line Scanner for Dos 6.22, Win 3.51, Win 9x, Win NT and Win 2K

We recommend VirusScan 4.16 for Dos 6.22, Win 3.51, Win 9x, Win NT and Win 2K. Most users will not need this as the Windows scanner which comes as part of 'Multi-Platform v4.5.1' which performs this job. The same documentation and software can be used for all platforms listed in this section.
