Protecting your Apple Macintosh

We recommend that users with Macintosh computers install and maintain VirusScan antivirus software.

Users should also install the latest Apple security updates as soon as possible and regularly thereafter. Security updates are available from the Apple website (external website).

Licensing

McAfee VirusScan anti-virus is freely downloadable for use by all University staff and students and can be installed on any computers owned by the University. This license also extends to one personal computer/laptop at home.
