Protecting Microsoft Windows (PC)

Viruses are a threat to computers using Windows. Some viruses attack antivirus software especially in cases where the antivirus software has not had time to update. To try and avoid this happening please see our I have a virus! webpages.

We recommend the following virus protection software:

In order to comply with University policy please make sure that your antivirus is constantly up-to-date. Users should also install the latest windows critical/security updates as soon as possible and regularly thereafter. Critical and security updates are available from Microsoft (external website).

Licensing

Matriculated students and Staff are licensed to use the University's anti virus software and may download it for personal use.
