The central learning & teaching (CLT) facilites desktop has been upgraded to Windows 7 Enterprise and Microsoft Office 2010. This includes all central IT suites, teaching rooms and lecture theatres. Available for use from the start of Semester 1, the new desktop provides software compatibility with current applications and uses new features in Windows 7 and Office 10 . Internet Explorer has also been upgraded to version 9.
The desktop continues to offer all the reliability and consistency that were the trademarks of the old SOE, whilst also rethinking and redeveloping almost all of its major components providing significant performance benefits. This includes faster login time and direct access to the Student Dashboard.

You may have some questions about the transition from Windows XP to Windows 7 and Office 2003 to Office 2010 and how this will affect you.
