Information for new students

- Information & Communications Services manage the University's central, networked facilities.
- Some Schools or departments may also have additional computing facilites. Contact your School or department for information.
How do I get my IT account?
As an Applicant
- Step 1 - Letter from Admissions: this will include your Applicant login and password information in detail.
- Access will be limited to the University email system (internal only) and Virtual Learning Environment, My Dundee.
- Step 2 - Activate: At Applicant stage you must activate your account first before being able to use the Password Management Portal.

Not an Applicant
- If you are not classed as an Applicant, your username and initial password may be sent or given to you when you arrive, depending on what you are studying.
At matriculation
- Register: full access to the University's IT facilities and systems is automatic after matriculation.
- Logging on: As a student the username and password will be the same as the ones you used as an Applicant.
About your student account
- If you are an Applicant or have matriculated but haven't received your account details please contact ICS Service Desk.
