The University's network service is managed by ICS to provide network connection to students and staff of the University. It provides access to JANET, the Internet, file storage, email, the VLE, and a range of applications software and data. This is a high priority service, used in every University campus, on which many business critical activities of the University depend.
During 2005-06, the Netcomms project has been delivering a complete upgrade of the University network. The result will be a world-class, high-speed, resilient network service.
The service web pages are being developed as the project hands over to the service team, and will be expanded and updated as this progresses.
For support with all queries, faults and requests for service relating to network connections, please contact the ICS Service Desk. If you are requesting the installation of new network outlets, or changes to the use of existing network outlets (moves, activation of ports etc.), please use the appropriate form listed in the section below.
