Netstore allows access and management of files stored on the central file service over the Internet.
It provides a number of ways of doing this, from a web browser, using a WebDAV client or an FTP client.
Netstore is a universal means of accessing the files wherever you are because all you need is any PC, laptop or other device which is connected to the Internet and has a Web Browser.
Connect to https://netstore.dundee.ac.uk and login using your University username and password. (Accessing Files using a Web Browser guide.)
After login, you will be presented with a list of network drives you can access. For SOE users this should be the same set of network drives accessible from the SOE.

In order to prevent any loss of work it is strongly recommended you don't edit files directly when connected using WebDAV.
Download files to your local disk, edit them there and then upload them when you've finished.

This is controlled by login scripts associated with your user account. Staff should contact their departmental IT support for advice on changing these mappings. For students these mappings are fixed.
Both browser and WebDAV access use a secure connection so passwords and file data cannot be read as it passes over the Internet.
In contrast, FTP is insecure, and file data and passwords can be read as they pass over the Internet. For this reason FTP should only be used a last resort.
In order to keep all data secure, the site can only be accessed over a secure HTTPS link.
