What is a visitor account and what will it give me access to?
Visitor accounts provide temporary access to University of Dundee computing facilities.
- Each visitor account is given a username and password for use with standard University Desktop PCs in IT suites, lecture theatres, teaching rooms and offices and 10MB storage limit of temporary disk space.
- Visitor accounts can be used to access UoD WiFi
What is the Password Management Portal?
The Password Mangement Portal is an online facility for staff and students, particularly distance learners and those off campus, to change their University of Dundee password required for many key University IT systems.

How do I get a visitor account?
- These temporary accounts can only be issued at the request of University staff. Students may not apply.
- The account details are sent by email to University staff, who are then responsible for issuing the login details to the visitor.
- One visitor account can be used by one person only. Multiple users per account will breach the University rules and regulations.
How long does a visitor account last for?
The ICS Service Desk can issue visitor accounts for up to one month.
