Disability IT Support Service

The University makes available additional support, software, equipment and training to ensure that C&IT is accessible and easy to use. The University employs an IT Disability Support Specialist to:

Ensure IT systems are accessible or provide alternative solutions.
Raise awareness of assistive technology.
Advise on accessibility of new and existing C&IT systems.
Provide training, support and advice to disabled IT users.
Advise and support staff who support disabled students.
Support and advise Disability Services on C&IT matters

Information for students

During term the IT Disability Support Specialist is available for consultation on Wednesday afternoons, from 1.00pm to 4.30pm. If this is not convenient, a mutually convenient time can be arranged. You can make an appointment by contacting Andy McMahon ( IT Disability Support Specialist)

A range of information and resources about C&IT in relation to disability issues is available. Its main focus is to give practical links and advice on best practice use of technology to support disabled users.

Alternative Format Project

The Alternative format project will research and develop technology to enable the University to convert and produce material for print disabled people. The project will investigate the most efficient way to convert electronic and printed material into alternative formats
