  • Accounts
    IT accounts for staff, students and visitors - FAQs
  • Anti-virus Protection
    Guidance and software for staff  and all students.
  • Associate User Scheme
    A service which allows people, who have a genuine association with the University, to use a range of University computing facilities. Examples of Associate Users could be visiting academics/students and individuals working on University projects.
  • Audio Visual Support
    AV support for Central Learning & Teaching Facilities.

  • Blackberry  
    A service providing secure university email using a Blackberry device on the UoD Blackberry Enterprise. Server

  • CERT - Computer Emergency Response Team
    The University of Dundee has a Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) who can be contacted if there is a suspicion that a response is needed to a computer or network security problem.
  • Connect2Campus
    The Connect2Campus Service provides a standard, secure and easily accessilble route to using University IT services from beyond the University network.
  • PC/Laptop purchasing scheme
    For students and staff to purchase computers at discounted prices.
  • IT Purchasing (Computers)
    Buying computers for office use, according the Scottish Government Procurement Office.

  • Desktop Services Support Agreements
    This service provides professional IT support to your School or department.
  • Disability IT Support
    Supporting disabled users in using ICT.
  • dMail 
    The University's email service.
  • UoD Dropbox
    UoD Drop Box provides a convenient way of sharing files with people internal and external to the University. We have introduced this service to make it easy to share large files (>25Mb) which cannot be handled by dMail.
  • Download Store  
    Allows Staff to download Microsoft software for usage on campus and for working at home.

  • Email
    An email, calendar and task management resource for students and staff.
  • Email Gateway Service
    A backend service which supports and protects the sending and receiving of emails.

  • Institutional Software Licensing
    A list of all software licensed at the University of Dundee and associated licensing agreements eg Campus Agreements and MS Select.
  • IT Awareness
    Information on support resources and Beginner workshops.
  • IT Suites
    Centrally managed IT facilities for students and teaching staff.

  • Netstore
    Outlines how to connect to the ICS managed Netware servers using a web browser, webDav, or an FTP client.
  • Network Services
    Providing support with queries, faults and service requests (including changes to cabling installation) relating to network connections.
  • New Students 
    Key information for students who are new to the University.

  • Office 2010 support
    Help is available for staff and students looking for tips with using Office 2010.

  • Password Management Portal
    An online facility for staff and students, particularly distance learners and those off campus, to change your password required for many key University IT systems eg GroupWise and My Dundee.
  • Printing and Pay2Print
    Printing facilities, and payment methods, for students and teaching staff.
  • Publications & Policies
    Relating to using Information and Communication Technology.
  • Purchasing
    Full details of how to purchase from the University Range of PCs, Laptops and Consumables.

  • ResNet - IT in Residences
    Provides information about using your computer or laptop in University of Dundee residences and is aimed at student applicants for Residences accommodation for the next academic session.

  • Security - Computer & Network

  • SERVICE DESK
    The single point of contact in ICS for getting help with IT-related incidents, service requests and queries.
  • Software Licensing (Institutional)
    A list of all software licensed at the University of Dundee and associated licensing agreements eg Campus Agreements and MS Select.
  • Standard Operating Environment (SOE)
    A standardised computer system available to both students and staff, the SOE for Windows is currently provided in all ICS IT Suites, teaching rooms and many University academic and support staff.

    Advice and resources relating to all aspects of telephony.
  • Training
    Information & Communication Technology (ICT) training for staff.
  • Training Library
    Library of some of the training courses provided by ICS.

  • UoD Dropbox
    UoD Drop Box provides a convenient way of sharing files with people internal and external to the University. We have introduced this service to make it easy to share large files (>25Mb) which cannot be handled by dMail.
  • User Guides

  • Video Conferencing Support
    Support, advice and charges for video conferencing on all campuses.
  • UoD VPN
    The UoD VPN allows authorised users to access University of Dundee services from off-campus locations using a suitably specified and configured computer with a suitable Internet connection.
  • Virus Protection
    Guidance and software for staff with no IT support and all students.

  • Web Accessibility
    Provides support to University staff ensuring that the Web sites they publish are as accessible as possible to the target audience, regardless of disability or browsing technology.
  • Web Development
    Provides support on web matters including advising web site development, web design, access to the central web server for Colleges/Schools and Student & Academic Support Service departments, domain name registration and web accessibility issues.
  • Windows 7 support
    Help is available for staff and students looking for tips with using Windows 7.
  • UoD WiFi
    UoD WiFi provides users with a wireless connection to the University Network when using a personal (suitably specified and configured) laptop.
