What is new on this site?
Welcome to Help4U, our self-service portal
Staff and students can log IT calls using Help4U, our self-service portal. As well as being able to log incidents and service requests 24/7, you can now check the progress of your calls online.
Within the self-service portal you can also search our growing Knowledge Base for articles that will help you with common queries and known issues.
Visit www.dundee.ac.uk/help4u, click on the link to self-service and login with your standard username and password.

Service Updates
Change required to VPN settings
We are moving to a new Virtual Private Network (VPN) service. This is required by Janet UK, who provides our network connection to the rest of the UK.
This means that EXISTING VPN users who wish to continue using the VPN service will have to change their settings. We plan to retire the existing service on Tuesday 21 August 2012 and users must change their settings by then. User can update their settings from now.

Network Configuration Work
Over the coming months, ICS will be updating the network infrastructure on City Campus. This essential work will simplify the network design, resulting in cost savings and technical and efficiency advantages. Before this work can be done we need to reconfigure network components across the campus. This work will be rolled out from now until the end of May.

The University email service, dMail, has now moved from GroupWise to Office 365.

Desktop Upgrade
Your new student Desktop is now available in central learning & teaching facilities featuring Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. More information

Wireless Printing
Wireless printing is now available on campus using Pay2Print Wireless. This will make it much easier to send your work to an IT suite printer if you are using a laptop or other suitable device. For more information see Pay2Print Wireless

Service Desk Enquiry form has been improved to give you more options.

Closure of IT Suite
Matthew 5019 IT Suite will be closed week starting 22/08/11. Alternative drop-in IT facilities are available in the DoJ Library or other IT Suites on campus, including Matthew 5020.
