eRecruitment

eRecruitment is the term given to software that facilitates the staff recruitment process, using technology to recruit and attract candidates for jobs in the University. It allows the process to take place online, making it easier, accessible and more efficient for candidates and streamlines the process for recruiters.

Why eRecruitment?

The University decided that eRecruitment was required in order to ensure that it continues to attract the best candidates and to modernise and streamline the recruitment process. This consequently will provide an easier process for candidates to participate in, a less bureaucratic process for HR to administer giving HR more time to devote to other areas of HR practice, resulting in the provision of an enhanced service to Colleges and Directorates.

Why Stepstone/iGrasp?

The University reviewed various providers offering eRecruitment software to find a provider and the preferred eRecruitment solution was iGrasp, which is produced by Stepstone.

Stepstone were chosen for their knowledge and understanding of HE sector recruitment, iGrasp is implemented in 57 organisations in Higher Education, Local and Central Government.

iGrasp is an off the shelf package that can be tailored to meet the University's needs and offers the following services;

Creation, authorisation and posting of vacancies on line (University web site and job boards).
Provides a redeployment portal for staff coming to the end of fixed term contracts.
Allows for screening and testing of candidates online.
Allows candidates to book themselves into an available interview slot.
Provides separate online HR, interviewer and candidate portals.
Allows the building of talent pools of quality candidates.
Provides personalised candidate communications at every stage of the process.
Provides offer and hire checklists and validation.
