FAQ for Online Training

Q : How do I connect to the web site for diversity training?
A : The online modules are available at http://dundee.marshallacmtraining.co.uk.

Q : What is my account name?
A : Your account name is your University of Dundee email address.

Q : What is my password?
A : An email with your account name and initial password will have been sent to your University of Dundee email account. In the event you forget your password you can reset this online. To do this connect to http://dundee.marshallacmtraining.co.uk and click on the 'Forgotten Password?' link. From there you will be prompted for your email address, enter this then submit the form. This will reset your password and an email will be sent to your university of Dundee email address with your new password.

Q : My email address is changing, how will this affect my Marshall account.
A : Your login name for Marshall will also be updated with your new email address. This change will normally be made the evening after your email address has changed.

Q : I'm changing departments, will I need to retake all the modules I've taken already?
A : No, however you may need to take additional modules depending on your new job. Any extra modules you need to take will appear automatically when you login to Marshall ACM.

Q : I need help using the online training where can I get help?
A : Email any questions to diversity-training@dundee.ac.uk.

Q : I didn't understand some of the content in the online training where can I get further advice?
A : Email any questions to diversity-training@dundee.ac.uk.

Q : I am not a manager so why do I need to take the module 'A Manager's Guide to Stress'?
A : It is important that all staff understand stress management from all perspectives.

Q : How long will the modules take to complete?
A : The modules will take on average 2hrs to complete. The 'Diversity in Learning & Teaching' and 'Recruitment & Selection' modules however, may take slightly longer.

Q : Will I receive a certificate to confirm I have completed a module?
A : Once you have completed all required modules, you will receive a formal certificate from Human Resources.

Q : If I am interrupted whilst in a module, can I save my work / location and go back to it later?
A : Yes, you can set a bookmark to save your work / location. When you next log into the module, you will have the option to go back to your bookmark. (The bookmark option can be found on the navigation bar.)

Q : I need to use additional technology ie: a screen reader when using the web, are the modules compatible?
A : The modules have been designed in line with accessibility requirements (e.g. are compatible with screen reading technology) and individuals can also customise the text size/colour to meet their individual needs by using the accessibility features of their web browser. Further information on how to do this is available from the BBC 'My Web My Way'site.

Q : How do I request access to the modules : Recruitment & Selection and/or Diversity in Learning & Teaching, if they have not been allocated to me automatically?
A : Please ask your Line Manager to request access for you by contacting diversity-training@dundee.ac.uk. Once received, we will amend your Marshall Profile so that this/these modules are made available to you.

Q : My Line Manager has requested that I be granted access to the Recruitment & Selection module, however, I have not been granted access. Why is this?
A : This module is currently being updated as regards current legislation and the University's own practices and procedures. We have retained all requests for this module, and once it is ready for launch, we will amend your Marshall Profile so that it becomes available to you. The Website will also be updated to reflect the launch of the module.
