What Our Students Say
Samantha Bannerman - 4th Year
With a diverse range of modules on offer, devoted staff and an enthusiastic History Society there is something for everyone. If you have a genuine love of history, there is no greater place to study the subject.
Craig Kelly
There is a relaxed and open atmosphere in the History Department. The lecturing staff put you at ease which really helps the learning process.
Added to that, since our lecturers are involved in active research there is a constant flow of new information. It is exciting to hear about their latest discoveries in the archives. The way that this information is incorporated into lectures really grabs your attention. Dundee is an exciting place to study History.
When I was in my first year if somebody had said to me that at Honours leve I would do a special subject and my dissertation on early-modern Scottish History I would have laughed. It was certainly not my area of interest. However, I was captivated by this subject in third year an I haven't looked back. Next year I'm doing a Masters in early-modern History and I plan to continue onto PhD. That alone is testament to the lecturing staff at Dundee and their ability to engage students. I couldn't recommend Dundee highly enough.
Rory, 3rd Year
Studying History at Dundee is highly engaging. With many top academics ready at your disposal, you feel as if you are connected to a wider web of knowledge. Adding to that, you are participating in helping to write history itself.
William Hamilton, 4th Year
It was a privilege to study History at Dundee University for 4 years. A fantastic department and staff that care about you as an individual helping you to reach your full potential.
