Accessibility Statement
Features to enhance the site's accessibility
- Where appropriate 'skip to contents' navigation has been implemented, allowing direct access past the navigation bars to the page's main content
- Hyperlinks should make sense when read out of context, and hyperlinks change colour when the destination page has been visited
- Images have been given appropriate alternative text
- A navigation bar linking to the main sections of the site is provided at the top left and links to the homepage and an a-z index of the site at the bottom of each page
Visual Design
- Cascading Style Sheets have been used to control the look of the site
- If stylesheets are not supported or are turned off, information on the site can still be accessed and read
- Font sizes are now fully scaleable for the body of the text
This means you can enlarge the text size and change text and background colour to suit your needs.
Generally -
Some browsers allow you to change text size by holding down the CTRL key and pressing the + key (to enlarge text size) or - key (to reduce text size).
Or, if you have a 'wheel' mouse, try holding down the CTRL key and using the mouse to 'scroll up' to enlarge the text.
- In Netscape, version 7 and above the CTRL + and - key option works.
- In Internet Explorer, version 5 and above, you can use the Text Size option of the View menu.
- In Netscape, versions 4.0-4.8, use the Increase or Decrease font size options of the View menu.
- In Netscape, version 6 and above, use the Text Size option of the View menu.
- In Opera, the "+" and "-" keys should allow zooming in and out of the page.....
but it looks like you may have to use the Zoom option in the View menu to have effective control of text size with current versions.
With a 'wheel' mouse holding down the CTRL key and using the mouse to 'scroll up' will enlarge the text (or scroll down to reduce text size).
- In Firefox, the CTRL + and - key option should work.
