Princes Street Surgery is one of the oldest practices in Dundee. We were established in 1926 and have been involved in teaching and training for over 25 years. We are a very busy, inner city practice working from modern, well equipped premises. We are fully computerised providing a full range of general medical services, maternity, contraceptive, minor surgery, health screening and child surveillance services. We have a well established community team.

In house services include clinical psychology, alcohol counselling, physiotherapy and dietetics. Clinics include asthma and COPD, diabetic, cardiovascular, HRT and menopause, smear, well person, smoking cessation and all aspects of baby clinics.

The Partners carry out private medicals for insurance companies and private firms. We examine clients for offshore work, and issue certificates to UKOOA standard and are the only Dundee practice to offer seafaring medicals (ENG). We are company doctors for Marks & Spencer, Dundee and Perth. Dr Bruce is Acting Regional Director in General Practice at Tayside Centre for General Practice, and takes responsibility for running CME.

In October 2001, the practice was given the prestigious Quality Practice Award from the RCGP and has a continuing commitment to ensuring the quality of all aspects of service to the patients.

The practice has received Research Practice status from the CSO and has a number of ongoing projects. This is supported by membership of TayRen, through which studies have already been completed.

The GPR has their own room, desk and storage space. We have a well stocked library with an excellent range of journals and general practice literature.

Our practice is a member of the Dundee Doctors Out of Hours Co-Operative and the GPR works two sessions per month.
