Financial Support

A variety of sources of funding are available for postgraduate research. In human geography, Geography is recognised for Economic and Social Research Council studentships (i.e. 1 year MSc training plus three years PhD). Students with appropriate research training can also apply directly to do an ESRC-funded PhD over three years. For physical geographers, Natural Environment Research Council studentships may be available.
