  • Advanced Geographies of Children and Youth

  • Advanced Cities: People, Places, Conflicts

  • Advanced Water Hazards and Risk

  • Catchment Sediment Dynamics

    A module that examines issues of sediment supply, including soil erosion and control, sediment fingerprinting and the movement of sediment within rivers.

  • Advanced Hydrology and Water Resources

    Aspects of hydrology and water resource management are covered in this module and include a look at the issues of flooding, climate change and hazards. Coursework assessed by a series of independent numerical assignments.

  • Geographical Information Systems (Advanced)

    This module introduces the principles and applications of GIS, including data entry, management, analysis and includes environmental and social problem solving. Runs every year.

  • Advanced Geographies of Health

  • Advanced Glacial Processes and Environments

    A module that takes you to the spectacular ice-covered parts of the planet to discover how glaciers form, how they tell us about climate change and how their motions help shape the landscape.

  • Geographies of Power: Contemporary Political Geography (Advanced)

    This module investigates how power and politics connect to space, place, territories and borders. It also looks at the political geographies of the 'War on Terror' and how forms of political protest make use of spatial tactics.

  • Coastal and Estuarine Geoscience

  • Environmental Resource Management

    Runs every year.

  • Dissertation

    This module is a chance for students to undertake a research project of their choice and writing this up as a 10,000 word report with the aid of one-to-one supervision. Runs every year.

  • Critical Reading and Review Essay Course

    MA Joint Honours students must take this module or GE41006 Dissertation. Runs every year.
