This module examines the perceived crises associated with a rapid increase in population and its coincidence with forces resulting in global, regional and local damage to the physical environment.
A module that provides an overview of natural resources at the global scale and introduces key concepts about social and economic change in different parts of the World.
This module examines how space and place interact with social, cultural and economic processes.
Key concepts used in geomorphology and hydrology are covered in this module, including processes related to glaciers, rivers etc and includes a residential fieldtrip to Aviemore.

A module that takes you to the spectacular ice-covered parts of the planet to discover how glaciers form, how they tell us about climate change and how their motions help shape the landscape.
Aspects of hydrology and water resource management are covered in this module and include a look at the issues of flooding, climate change and hazards.
An introduction to the use of remote sensing to help map and monitor environmental problems at global to local scales. Runs every year.
A look at the global flows of labour migrants and refugees, including links between international migration, urbanisation and UK immigration policy.
This module investigates how power and politics connect to space, place, territories and borders. It also looks at the political geographies of the 'War on Terror' and how forms of political protest make use of spatial tactics.
This module introduces the principles and applications of GIS, including data entry, management, analysis and includes environmental and social problem solving. Runs every year.
A module that examines issues of sediment supply, including soil erosion and control, sediment fingerprinting and the movement of sediment within rivers.
